About Strumb
Formerly Bigfish Smallpond Design, Strumb is an evolutionary story about exercising fluidity while maneuvering the frequent changes in business, technology, marketing, design trends, and language. We strive to create timeless design—design that can sustain usability and integrity throughout the courses of fleeting design trends.
Strumb creates resonance.
Resonance can be described as the harmony between business goals and values expressed through the visual brand design of those goals and values. There must be harmony between a business culture and its public presentation. When you ask, "Does my visual brand presentation align with my business persona?", it may be time to rethink and apply an entire redesign or perhaps refine your existing visual brand ID.
We can help you with that.

Fani Nicheva
Fani Nicheva has been blessed to live and work in two cultures — American and Eastern European — and draw creative lessons from both experiences.
Born and raised in Bulgaria during communism, she grew up acutely aware of the culture of commercial emptiness and ideological propaganda. She started studying languages and literature at the University of Prague in the Czech Republic. After earning a full-tuition scholarship to Emmanuel College in Boston, she moved to America.
Post Sepember 11, 2001, she returned to Bulgaria and was hired as the creative director for a European ad agency, EURO RSCG, in Sofia, Bulgaria. There she gained a strong background in advertising. In 2005 she returned to the US and started Bigfish Smallpond with her husband, Bob von Elgg.
Today she is a co-owner in Strumb Design and the centerpiece of Brave Brand. She spends her time working between Brave Brand, Strumb Design, swimming, reading books, and raising a teenage boy.
