Raining Acorns Mural

Santa Cruz, California

Presented as a welcoming gift to people coming into Santa Cruz from the north, the golden acorns represent abundance... so much from so little. For the native Awaswas tribe, acorns were harvested in late October. Each harvest needed to last the year until the next October came around. The idea of "raining acorns" poses the nut into a flight of celebration and the possibility of big things to come.
